a planet-loving, fancy homeware brand, made up north.
Dreamed up in the hazy days of 2020, cush. is the brain child of maximalist textile designer, Emma Barry, who believes beautiful things don't have to cost the earth.
our vision.
Creating something that’s kind to the planet and animals, dreaming up maximalist and high-end homewares that sit happy in every gaff without compromising on quality or our morals.

we're proud to be northern.
Everything you see is designed by yours truly in the cush. shed studio in Lancaster. To bring it all to life, we then work with the best in the biz suppliers and makers from up north and only a little further afield to keep it local, and keep it special.
Our collections are limited so we'll always keep the drops small and some designs may only run once.

we love animals.
From the fabrics we choose right down to the trims - you'll never find any animal product in our store!
Our cushion pads are made from recycled plastic bottles which means we're cruelty-free and will never use any animal product in our store.
as little waste as possible.
Our cushions are responsibly printed and made up north in small batches. Please view our sustainability values here.
Instead of binning anything, we always try to reuse or repurpose all waste during our design, sampling and production stages. We're dead proud of our handmade ribbon that attaches our tags to our cushions as they are made from swatches from our sampling process.

All of our packaging is completely plastic free, and we use recycled and FSC approved paper wherever possible, including our tissue paper and mailer bags. Our branded tape uses environmentally friendly inks and is 100% paper based and fully recyclable.

natural is best.
We promise to always use natural fibres in our collections (bar our recycled plastic bottle cushion pads, of course!). From our fabrics and trims to our packaging, everything is entirely recyclable - even down to our 'plantable' product labels, which are embedded with wildflower seeds, so please plant them rather than throwing them away!
be cush. to the planet (& your gaff.)
